Purdue @ Valpo Photo Gallery

This is a little bigger than most of the galleries. I had a few pictures that I liked and decided to share most of them. At some point I may post a few more that didn’t make it in here.

John Hart Out 4-6 Weeks

John Hart on Defense Saturday against Alabama

One of the guys who was providing some offense for Purdue other than E’Twaun and JJ is now out for a while. John Hart will undergo surgery this week and miss at least 4-6 weeks for a stress fracture to his right foot. Right now he is the third leading scorer on the team, and is leading the team in three pointers. He has come in and sparked the team multiple times so his loss will hurt. His threat along with the limited ability of DJ Byrd right now will give someone a chance to step up and produce for the Boilers. Who will it be? Continue reading

The Center of Attention

JaJuan Johnson slamming home two of his 25 points last night

Last night many people came to Mackey Arena to see JaJuan Jonson going up against Keith Benson. Both players are expected to be NBA players in the near future so you look for anything to make these early games exciting. After having an easy time last Wednesday the Boilers found themselves in a fight early on against the Grizzlies. Oakland came out firing early, and took and early 8-2 lead. They also had leads of 12-5 and 17-10 in the first half. John Hart came into the game to provide a little spark though. He hit a bucket to bring the Boilers to within five, and then stole the basketball to set up DJ Byrd’s three pointer to make it a two point game. This season the players like Hart will determine the fate of the Boilers. These are the guys that the national writers are overlooking when they place Purdue in the national picture.  Continue reading

Purdue Basketball vs. Howard Photo Gallery

Here are a few pictures that did not make the post from the game last Sunday. I had a haze in the first half because of the abuse I put my camera through during the football game Saturday. It went away though after some work during halftime, and the true colors come out much better for the second half pictures.

Purdue Golden in Opener

Purdue Pete likes what he sees

Last night Purdue looked very good opening the season against Howard. The final score was 76-40, but that doesn’t tell the story for much of the first half. Both teams were in a nice battle for most of the first half. In fact the Boilers only had a ten point lead with a minute to go in the half. Then Terone Johnson and E’Twaun Moore both hit three’s to give them a sixteen point lead at the break. Moore’s shot at the buzzer was yet another great way to go into the break. Continue reading

2010-11 Purdue Men’s Basketball Preview

The Boiler D in action against Duke

It’s that time of year again. On Sunday the Purdue men start playing games that actually count. With that upon us I thought that I would attempt a preview for the season. This will not be an in depth look at stats. This is just a look at the players, and how I think they will impact this team. At the end I will take a stab at predicting the conference standings at the end of the year.   Continue reading

Purdue Exhibition Pictures

A couple of days ago Purdue played a meaningless game. Meaningless that is unless you want to see a Boiler team win. They did pull out the win though in the exhibition opener. I normally will not post pictures after each basketball game, but with all the new faces I thought that I would post a few. Here are the pictures from the game versus Indianapolis.
