Today the Purdue Boilermakers may have just kissed their bowl hopes goodbye. They were outplayed by Northwestern badly. I decided to stay home this morning, and it turned out to be a great decision. I would have been sick if I had driven there to see them get beat like that. This is Northwestern….Northwestern. We must be worse than I thought for this to happen. Painter played like he has for most of the season early on, and then Elliot came into the game. He did not do much better, and then was hurt while running the football. Painter came back in and played better, but still threw three picks. After today as I said earlier we can kiss our bowl hopes goodbye. We will say goodbye to Coach Tiller on November 22nd against Indiana. We would need to upset either Michigan State or Iowa on the road, and beat Minnesota, Michigan, and Indiana at home to finish at .500. That is a tall order. Four out of the next five for a team that has only won two games this season. One of those was against a 1-AA opponent. I will go down next weekend for homecoming, but with the dread of what the Gophers will do to this team. We are just frustrating to watch right now.
