Less than two years ago I was watching Justin Upton play for the South Bend Silverhawks a low A ball affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Now through the beauty of MLB.tv I am able to watch him play in the Major Leagues. The picture to the left was taken in September of 2006 while Justin was still dreaming of his shot. Now that he has his shot he is not disappointing. Through the first eleven games of the season he is batting .415 with 5 home runs and 11 RBI’s. He is a major part of why the Diamondbacks are atop the NL West right now. The one downfall that I have seen so far are his strikeouts. He has already gone down 11 times in 41 at bats. Hopefully some of that will smooth out once he starts getting some more at bats. Let’s face it. He is only a 20 year old kid. He has a lot of baseball left ahead of him if he can keep getting better. He was only eighteen when he started his professional career. He has a bright future ahead of him.
