Carlton Fisk Countdown: #23

Today is the first of two cards that made the countdown as much for the back of the card as for the front. It is the 1991 Fleer Ultra card of Fisk. I like this card because it has Carlton is four different uniforms on it. On the back you have the mid 80’s away uniform, and both of the home and away uniforms that followed that. On the front is a mystery uniform. I would guess it was the uniform that the Sox started wearing in 1987, but it just does not look like it. I should be able to see part of the number on the left pant leg, and I don’t see any sort of a belt. Either way this card is a good history on the uniforms of the White Sox in the late 80’s. Forget the fact that this card was made in 1991. One other quality that I like about the card is the number. I think that Fleer sensed the end of his career, and gave him the number 72.
