It seems like every time I set foot in Mackey Arena for a women’s game they get beat. Yesterday was no different. Purdue came out firing and jumped to a 7-0 lead. We missed a chance to get it even higher, then gave up a three pointer that made it 7-3. Right then I thought that we need to get going, and keep IU down. We didn’t, and IU slowly put themselves in the lead. We had a few chance right at the end of the half to take the lead, but went into the break down 32-31. We came out slow in the second half, and went down quickly. We made a couple of runs that got the crowd back into the game, but in the end the Hoosiers were too much for us yesterday. We just need someone to take over the game. Malone did that in the first half, scoring 13, but was not much of a scoring threat in the second half. If not for the people around me I would probably not go to too many more games this season. An hour and a half drive to watch a team play like that is not my idea of fun. The people around me are so nice though that I will end up at a few more games this year. We have some bright spots, but we need some of the players that we will have next year for this team to make it. At least we are building some depth on the bench for next season.
