This was one of the better college games that I have seen. Both teams played hard enough to win. Indiana missed a two point shot at the buzzer that would have won the game for them, but the shot rattled out. They eventually lost the game in overtime. Shaun Pruitt scored 18 and Warren Carter 17 for the Illini. D.J. White scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Hoosiers, but was not the star of the team in my eyes. Freshman Arman Bassett scored 18 for Indiana. He was the player that missed the shot at the end of regulation, but made a lot of big shots down the stretch to keep them in the game. He was very impressive for a freshman in his first Big Ten Tournament. The Hoosiers are probably in the Big Dance, so they should not have to worry. The Illini will face Wisconsin tomorrow night to decide who will go to the championship game. I was offered tickets to both games tomorrow, and could not pass them up. I really would like to see Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament. Hopefully they can knock off Ohio State to get to the finals. The win over Iowa today may have sealed the NCAA bid up, and a win over OSU would make it solid. If all goes well I will be able to see the last two periods of the Notre Dame hockey game afterwords. If I can do all of that, I will just sleep on Sunday.
