For the second straight year I have seen the Boilermakers beat the Wolverines in Mackey Arena. Last year it was a 14 point win against what was the #12 team in the nation. It was a big win for a program that wasn’t seeing too many wins. This year the team has more confidence, and it showed. They had a 15 point lead at the half. When Michigan came out hot in the second half and cut the lead to six they did not panic. They went on a run to put the game away. I was really most impressed by freshman Chris Kramer. He hounded whoever he was guarding, and was a difference maker. He will be fun to watch as time goes on. Carl Landry was his typical self yet again. He led all scorers with 22 points. When the Boilers need a basket he is the guy that will just go get it. David Teague scored 21 including a couple of three pointers during a critical stretch in the first half. Dion Harris scored 21 points for Michigan, and most of those were forced shots against tight coverage. He was something else. It had been over a month since I was in Mackey, and I enjoyed the big game atmosphere. I will have to come back when Illinois and Ohio State come to town.
