This Week’s Promotions (4/1-4/10)

Well it is the start of another baseball season so the weekly promotion feature must start as well. This first one will be a little longer as I will cover about a week and a half as the season starts. I primarily do this for myself, but thought that if I am looking all of this up why not publish it? I cover mainly the teams in my area (Sox, Cubs, Silverhawks, Railcats). I also do try and get most of the Midwest League promotions as well as anything that I find of interest. The first couple of these will be filled with opening day promotions. I also have nothing for Monday the 4th. As always if you know of anything that didn’t make it on here let me know. Classic Scorecards: 1985 World Series Game Six

The internet is a wonderful thing. A couple of weeks ago I found a very cool site called Eephus League. Through that site I found another one called The Baseball Enthusiast. One of the first posts that I saw on there was one where he took a look at the second game of the 1985 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Royals. His site is all about going to ball games and keeping score. That got me thing about the first games that I scored. They were during that same series, and I still keep score to this day. I find that the longer I attend ballgames the more I notice how crazy people think I am for keeping score. They ask me why I bother? My explanation is simple. I always have. Continue reading
